Claude R. Stephens, Jr., D.D.S., M.S.

A Note from Dr. Stephens

“I really enjoy getting to know my patients and making a big difference in their lives. A nice-looking smile can help you express yourself more freely and just feel good about yourself in general... and there’s no limit to what self-confidence can do for you!

“I’m proud to help you get a more attractive smile that’s just right for you using my expertise in the latest techniques along with my artistic talent. There’s nothing better for me than the moment when braces come off and my patients—kids and adults alike—see their new, often dramatically improved smile for the first lime. It always reinforces that I’m doing what I’m meant to do.”

For Dr. Claude R. Stephens, it was family that inspired him to spend his life helping others. His father was a medic in the military and his siblings are nurses and teachers. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Austin College and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry. While at Baylor, he discovered that his true calling was orthodontics. He went on to complete orthodontic training and earn a Master of Science degree from the Ohio State University.

Dr. Stephens is a board-certified orthodontist and a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Texas Association of Orthodontists. He is a part-time professor for the orthodontic program at the University of Houston and is a SureSmile® clear aligner provider for the greater Dallas area.

Dr. Stephens served 35 years in the United States Navy and retired as Captain Claude Stephens in 2013.

Dr. Stephens and his wife, Valerie, a pediatric nurse, are happily married and have three children: one of whom is a college professor, another who is in cyber security and husband is in the United States Navy, and the third who is a chef. All three have straight, great-looking smiles created by their dad. Dr. Stephens also has two loving Vizsla dogs, Jasper and Elle Mae.
